Simon Fisher

Universally known as ‘SiFI’, Simon Fisher is a British sailor with something of an addiction to The Ocean Race. A five-time competitor with a race win under his belt, Fisher continues his partnership with Charlie Enright and Mark Towill, joining them onboard 11th Hour Racing Team for their next campaign.

In 2021, he will co-skipper the team’s existing IMOCA 60, known as 11.1, with Swiss sailor Justine Mettraux.

Fisher first began sailing dinghies at six years old. Between his Ocean Race experiences, he’s hustled hard in the America’s Cup and TP52 circuits. Simon plays the role of navigator onboard, and is well known as one of the best in the business.

His Ocean Race experience is vast, beginning with a fourth place finish in the 2005-06 edition of the race. He finished third on Telefónica Blue in 2008-09, and took a disappointing fifth place in the 2011-12 edition with Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing. Fisher came back fighting though - Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, skippered by fellow Brit Ian Walker, sailed to victory in the 2014-15 edition of the race.

SiFI first teamed up with US sailors Mark Towill and Charlie Enright for the 2017-18 Volvo Ocean Race, racing on Vestas 11th Hour Racing. They have their sights set on the top spot this time around.
